Lamellae of book lung = lung with many layers. Flow of medium flows in same direction of blood. At one point gradient is gone and there is no more exchange. Partial pressure at end can sometime exceed that of the blood. Efficiency is needed because there"s not as much oxygen in water as in air. Keep mouth open because they need the movement of water over the gills to breath. When breathing in, goes over lungs and then into sacs. Blood vessels go over the alveoli in the lungs. As it flows over, the partial pressure increases, transfer of diffusion. Often maybe types of breathing depending on the habitat like lung based breathing. Inhalation thorax expands, ribs move forward and out.
