Shizocoely: mesoderm splits from a solid mass and siing in that is a metanephridium. Metanephridium: ciliated funnel; ilters the coelomic luid and brings it outside. Also a root for gametes to move outside the body. Metamerism: repeat of mesodermal structures to accommodate a larger organism. Setal hairs made from chiin are used to push against the substrate. Gives them a grip to push across substrate loor. Larval stage region containing the mouth and body in front of it will add segments (that are idenical) that become the metameres (segments of body) that give them the impression of small segments of rings forming them. The anal opening (posterior) is not an original segment (pygidium) The part surrounding the mouth is the peristomium (mouth is prostomium). o o o. Between those are the metameres separated internally by muscle issues creaing septal walls. They are all independently separated by these walls.
