Smoking kills by poisoning the heart: hemoglobin carries o2 in the blood, co sticks to hemoglobin better than o2, lack of o2 damages the heart and blood vessels (must work harder to pump oxygen throughout the body) Body gets larger = more/longer blood vessels = heart has to work harder to pump blood throughout the body.
