Outnumber all others 25 to 1 & more than 200 viruses cause colds. Oten diicult to tell dif btw cold, lu, fever but oten associated together. Inluenza virus can be fatal, typically for very young & very old. Virus destroys issue & immune system makes symptoms. No cure for the common cold & no medicaions will prevent colds. Some cold medicaions relieve symptoms but only cuz doing something makes you feel beter. Ater ww2, w/ money invested in penicillin, it was also invested into common cold. Test subjects were in extreme comfort but the vacaion was not exactly free: sneezing does not spread colds well; sneezing & coughing. Sneeze collector: measures what is in a sneeze; Tube connects to vacuum that sucks up sneeze from around the room. 2 types of droplets: that hangs around air for long ime but doesn"t have virus, that hangs for a bit of ime & has a bit more virus.
