All phases in love involve, pleasure, sex, addiction. Used to elicit response in member of same species, cant be trained to do, when you smell or taste this substance you start behaving in a certain way; automatic behavior. Pheromones are messenger molecules, work like neurotransmitters, message lives inside system and sticks to molecules. Seen in insects, 12 different insect behavior, all chemical reactions. Female silkworm secretes chemical bombykol to attract males. Males have special antennae that looks like a comb, made to detect bombykol, communicate by smell. Able to detect different amounts of chemical, shows not just following a loose scent. When male receives chemical behaves in a programmed way, unlearned response. Pheromones not very good for pest control despite being safe.
