In this experiment, students were introduced to kinetics. Chemical kinetics, also known as reaction kinetics, is the study of rates of chemical reactions and processes. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the partial order with respect to cr(iii) ion for solutions at different ph levels and to show that the reaction being studied follows pseudo first-order kinetics. Kinetics includes investigations of how different experimental conditions can influence the speed of a chemical reaction and yield information, for example: temperature, pressure, ph etc. Reactions vary from very fast to very slow, and its usefulness majorly depends on the rate.
