Slaves: result of piracy, offsprings of other slaves. Often slaves were very skilled; but had no legal rights; couldn"t marry or vote. Slave farming: renting out slaves; a stable of slaves. Eleusinian mysteries (occurred every year in a fall just before the crops were imports (e. g. grain) planted in honous of the demeter) Parade down to the bay of phaleron. Ppl who wanting to be initiated to the eleusinian mysteries-> carried piglets- > washing them-> returned to the agora in athens-> followed from there to. Eleusis-> procession to aleusis followed a women carrying a container known as cista. Action took place in telesterion: hall of the mysteries fortified because of its border location.
