One of the 2 most important cycles in greek mythology (the other is the trojan cycle) Corinth and delphi located close to thebes look at map. Story begins with curse and it involves oedipus" father. This story is one example of this idea"s expression in greek mythology bad karma that a man creates eventually involves children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Perseus (put into box and cast to sea); atalanta (exposed by father who wanted boy, suckled by she-bear); paris (exposed to die, he is suckled by she-bear); Romulus and remus (in roman mythology) repeated motif, recurring theme - phenomenon deserving of analysis: in this situation, the child never dies. He grows up being told the corinthian king and queen are his parents; he is completely ignorant of the truth: somehow, some of oedipus" playmates/schoolmates learn that he wasn"t born to.
