Kronos and rhea: the 2nd generation leaders. Okeanos and tethys: fresh water elements (husband and wife) Kronos and rhea give birth to the first 6 olympians. Kronos is the leader of the universe. Earth"s prophesy: kronos will be overpowered by a son. So he swallowed his children as soon as they were born. Hestia : goddess of family and gathering. Demeter : goddess of earth/ground, represents the labour of the ground. Rhea secretly gives birth to zeus in crete in a cave. She gives kronos a stone wrapped in baby clothes and makes him swallow it. Similar structure in the 2 myths in theogony. Gaia devises a crafty plan to trick him. Kronos swallows children and keeps them in his body. Rhea asks gaia for advice and tricks kronos. Rhea gives a stone to kronos to swallow. Similar: the element of suppression in the stomach. You can see this structure of this in other story.
