Etruscan kings to the north paired up with superbus and attacked rome. Two main cities that are allied with superbus: tarquinii and clusium (and veii) King of clusium leads the attack (horatius) Etruscans are able to drive romans all the way back until they don"t have territory on the tiber river. 3 of them hold the etruscan army at bay while romans go back across the bridge. General wants them to knock down the bridge. Horatius holds off the etruscans while everyone else knocks down the bridge. He jumps in the water - father tiber grabs him and carries him to the other side. Mucius says to the romans: someone should go to the etruscan side and kill the leader of the army (lars porsenna) instead of waiting for them to attack. Sneaks in at night, waits until king comes out in the morning. King and his scribe look similar - both sitting there with paperwork.
