CMN 2130 Lecture 9: Interpersonal Relationships & Social Media Ethics; Guest Lecture
Document Summary
Personal; un-substitutable; care and well-being is the primary goal: receiving love, sharing personal space, emotional support, your care is my responsibility etc. Quasi-personal; substitutable, personal but not deeper; maybe one-sided: your role/contribution is more important that yourself, ex; i want you to do this because you are my wife, work is more important that the relationship itself. Impersonal; formal/market relationship: if you are not able to do something, we can mutually agree to end our relationship, contractual obligations, no emotional attachment, fully strategic. Creating multiple profiles: making more than one account to serve different purposes, different identities. Violating confidentiality: keeping confidential copies that are deemed to delete, and sharing them to close friends who may spread further. Lack of informed consent: absence of informed consent while sharing information, e. g. personal e-mail; chats in chat box, video chats on skype, phone numbers, email id, etc.
