Capitalism does something in terms of controlling states of consciousness only to those who are connected to. All disciplining processes will be met with subversion and resistance. So pop culture is now widely seen as train of contested communities. A train where we seek or use commercial meanings in our own way. Speak of resistance to the workplace resistance is not uncommon mostly we don"t resist. When we look to pop culture, we do not see, significant stream of resistance to that. 20th century pop culture -> corporate produced stories we"ve looked at the meaning making system meaning making system is the voice of capitalism. The design of the game enables and constraints social behaviour. Anything with a structure will have values embedded in that structure. The ideology behind these games overwhelms the player. The hypodermic needle theoryif you play these games it will inevitably come to see the world this way.
