Options for compelling an accused to appear in court (other than arrest): Notice or document even to the individual who has allegedly committed a crime by the police. This is issued when the of cer believes that the offender will appear in court. Gives court date and allegations, followed by laying and information. Written document, sworn before judge or jp containing speci c allegations against the accused. May not be denied without reasonable cause (dangerous offender, ight risk) Release would undermine public con dence in the cjs. Someone whois responsible and ensures that someone will get to court.
