Case 1: 3 counts of sexual assault removed from the family. Case 2: 4 counts of sexual assault will be labeled as a pedophile at age 16. Case 3: attempted suicide offence b/c of guilt of sexual assault. Preferences show a lesser association with offence history. Sexual interest in prepubescent children ranges from none to strong interest: the norm for this is none. Acts as a work in progress, future is unknown. Focus on treatment of needs to reflect the core of adolescents. Adolescents are more likely to be (cid:498)risk takers(cid:499) Treatment is not about (cid:498)control(cid:499) (cid:523)adult model(cid:524), but more about (cid:498)change(cid:499) Temporal lobe is the basis for risk taking. Prefrontal cortex is the location of thinking, planning, future goals. Midbrain has to be regulated to get the prefrontal cortex to work properly. To be successful, the emotional brain and rational brain must work together. Rate was 15% (worling and langstrom (2006))
