Courtesy stigma: share the spoiled identity of stigmatized person (failed families). Many believe that because someone was incarcerated, they probably came from a bad place or that they lacked role models in their family and that is why they were incarcerated but that is not always the case. There is a resistance through secrecy so by not telling anyone that said person went to prison. Imposition of waiting, so in other words they make people wait which is much like doing time. In order to maximize your visitation time, you need to arrive 2-3 hours early. It portrays to them that their time does not matter. Corporeal regulation (bodily control) by regulating peoples clothing. Clothing is sometimes a huge part of who we are. People are more easily controlled when they are unsure which is why the rules and such keep changing. Basically they are being pushed to discard their identities to adopt a more prison friendly identity.
