Marc lepine, massacre in l"ecole polytechnique (montreal engineering university) Had a hit list of women in quebec. According to friends, marc showed little pleasure in norm leisure activities; had an affluent family background. Aunt"s testified about his cruel father: neglected him and sister, sexual violence towards his mother. Sexist father, locked him and sister in a room for hours in the dark. According to psychiatric authorities marc"s personality traits were integrated with how he was brought up. Such crimes (femicide) are caused by societal frustrations integrated by the killer. Lepine felt rejected by women but lacked any emotion towards people (closed personality, didn"t share much) Failures: turned down by army, women and was unemployed; was not accepted into the university and believed women robbed his position at the institution. Sent letters to friends/ roommates with goodbyes; which is evidence of the deliberate nature of his crime and his suicidal intentions.
