Self-fulfilling prophecy: accepting the label and making it actually become true. Doesn"t matter what good things you did in your life, if you do one bad thing, you are now considered a bad person. Primary deviance: we all engage in thi on a daily basis. Secondary deviance: deviance a youth engages in because of the negative reaction that they have received from other people. For example, goes to a school where no one smokes or drinks, and these school mates disapprove of this behaviour, and this smoker/drinker now skips school because they don"t feel like they fit in. We look at out past behaviour and place it in accordance with this deviant behaviour. For example, sam gets convicted of sa, then saying that there was always a suspicion about sam, like sam used to always play with the kids in the park. For example, mike gets convicted for breaking into houses.
