Double ofence- noion that women are seen as having broken the law and feminist expectaions. Are seen as unfeminine and it jusiies puniive treatment. Something wrong on the inside- individualizing, the problem is within the woman herself. Criminalized women are supposed to be able to internalize is and see themselves as having something wrong with them. Distress tolerance and behavioural management- aimed at teaching women how to bare pain easily. Power imbalance- given no control over the treatment they receive and the power imbalance between them and the people treaing them. Over use/ misuse of medicaion- can refuse to take medicine. They have a lot of resources for this. Infotainment in a way that is interesing to us. Governed by trying to expose the abuse of power, and tell the public about what is happening. Internal coherence- the ay a documentary is internally structured and organized what we do with our term papers- how we interpret, format and so on.
