Document Summary
What a good answer looks like: the major paper for. Choose one of the following questions as the theme of your essay. I do not care whether the students agree or disagree (or partially agree or partially disagree) with the position implied in the question; their ideological stance is immaterial. What matters is the quality of the argument and how well they write. Papers must be assessed on both form and content. Form is how well they write: presence or absence of proper essay structure, presence of signposts to guide the reader, clarity of expression, absence of grammatical and spelling errors, consistent and proper referencing. Content includes the type, scope and use of evidence, the use of logic, and the handling of apparently contradictory evidence. Essays should follow the classical essay format: introduction, body, conclusions. Any referencing style is acceptable as long as it is used consistently throughout the paper.
