Main assumpions: human beings are raional actors, human beings are egoisic and will always look for their own interest, human beings are naturally predisposed for survival and violence. How and why insurgent groups from: what are the root causes of violent engagement. Why ordinary people support and join insurgent groups: intrastate wars are the key to understanding this.
