Document Summary

The human senses are the basis of thought: thoughts are representations of previously experienced things by the senses. Decaying sense : more of an obscuring of sense. Imagination of past is obscured by more predominant senses: think of the stars vs sun analogy (sun might outshine the stars during the day, but that doesn"t mean that the stars aren"t still there. In the same way the past is just being outshined by present thoughts, experiences, etc. : the decay of sense and weakening of imagination over time is memory. Simple imagination: recount of formerly perceived things by senses in their whole selves. Compounded imagination: combined thoughts that allow for previously sensed things to be imagined as new, unexperienced entities: the makings of fiction. There is a clear discernment between dreams and waking imaginations: it is ignorant to think fictitious things are real without having them experienced through sense. Credibility of dreams can be confirmed through sense.
