Document Summary

It is a social science that involves scarcity. Means that you have to make economic type decisions in the face of scarcity: choose what you"re going to do with your money, time, energy, life time. Unlimited wants scarcity choices to make. These trade offs force us to make decisions; i have to decide which one it"s going to be. Assess how well off i am from each possibility. What you give up to get that thing; if i choose this, i give up that. Therefore the cost of choosing this is not just the money i paid for it, it"s all benefits and implications of not having the other thing. For eg, university - you pay for tuition, books etc, but that"s not all you"re giving up. The opportunity costs for different students are different. If someone has a minimum wage job, the university student would be also losing out on the possible money they could have made.
