Examining the health of immigrant women in canada: the social determinants of health perspective. A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Social well being is an important aspect. Health is seen as a resource for everyday life. Canadian immigration favoured european back ground and were not only racist, but sexist, and homophobic. Someone will always be excluded (immigration and refugee protection act) excludes people that need public health care. Ppl relocate for social, religious and political freedom, economic benefits, public education and health care. This makes it sound like immigration is voluntary immigration, but refugees are forced out of their country. Exposure to western culture, like bad eating habbits. Canadian immigration policy, they have to pass this screen test to come into test. Self-selection: healthy people immigrate, because they know its going to be hard when they move.
