No one teaches you how to be queer. No rules for creating identity and living out sexuality. Broad range of intimacy (not strictly sexual) In heterosexuality there is a strict picture of home , for queer people home is more fluid. Communicating your own sense of self and putting it out into the world. Each person expressed emotion in different ways. Diversity of ages of people in the queer community. Idea that older folks can experience love, romance, and desire. Sexual violence: broad term that describes any violence, physical, psychological, carried out rhough means or by targeting sexuality. Violence takes different forms including sexual abuse, rape, incest, childhood sexual abuse and rape during armed conflict. Sexual harassment, stalking, indecent/sexualized exposure, degrading sexual imagery. Slut shaming: the act of criticizing a girl or woman for her real or presumed sexual acitivity, or for behaving in ways that someone thinks are associated with her real or presumed sexual activity.
