Lecture 3 the feminist critique: intersectional analysis, Force of norms that function and govern us. We police each other and internalize these norms. We"re all being recruited into/participating in the perpetuation of these conditions. Panopticon as a metaphor for disciplinary power. You don"t even have to have a guard in the tower prisoners assume one is always present, and thus self-regulate their behaviour. Romance and relationships linked with the attainment of femininity. Traditional: getting married, having children, being virtuous and pure (secually, being domestic. New : period of freedom, rebellion, experimentation etc, must settle down eventually.
