Institutions (religion, education, hollywood, family unit, etc. ) that preach heterosexuality. The laws are constructed to support heterosexuality. Maybe there is change in the west, but not the east. Normative heterosexuality depends on many of the happiness scripts and gender scripts that we talked about earlier in the semester.
