Covered everything: land claims, sovereignty, justice, education . Most non-aboriginal canadians never heard of it. Rcap also said that fundamentally, canada as a whole would have to recognize the independence and right to determine their own future of the aboriginal people: self governance, self-determination. Recommendation that canada create an aboriginal parliament: just like the sami people in scandinavia. Recommendation that land claims be settled as quickly as possible. Residential schools was a very small chapter (mostly, self-governance, land rights, autonomy) in the report, and the only one the federal government addressed.
