Paintings showing the betrothal of a successful merchants: praising god through the success achieved on earth, a new confidence given to merchants and peoples, ex. Showing painter in the mirror of a painting: humanization of subjects, while there is a great deal of emphasis on the visual, there is less interest in the literary arts. By way of observation and imperial evidence: proof needs to be observable, advances in medicine, science and art were not as distinguished as they are today, the came from the same fountain of knowledge. It is both a change and a continuity. It is not an important question, us looking at them and simply judging. What we need to do is to return to their perspective.
