Interprofessional education: process of preparing people for collaborative practice leading into improved health. Requires to know what makes an ideal collaborative partner. Canadian interprofessional health collaboration: cihc is federal initiative to establish a competency framework for interprofessional education and collaboration. Competencies: which allows a person to be a successful practitioner in any profession. Not only behaving right, but also being able to integrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values when making judgments and decisions. Interprofessional collaboration: the process of developing/maintaining effective interprofessional working relationships with learners, practitioners, patients/clients/families/communities to enable optimal health outcomes. Requirement of collaboration are trust, shared decision-making, partnerships. Competencies develop over the career of the professional & each domains are interdependent. Interprofessional communication: different professions communicate with a collaborative, responsive, and responsible manner. Info exchange-lessen the jargon while also being accessible. Listen respectfully + people seen as experts as their own exp.
