Esimates for populaion growth: ferility rates and life expectancy, populaion increases = compeiion for resources. North americans consume the most energy: most raw materials per person worldwide. Sulphur dioxide (acid rain, fossil fuels, pulp and paper mill, diesel) Ozone: a gas formed when nitrogen dioxide interacts with hydrogen chloride. Smog: brown hazy mix of pariculates and gases, temperature inversion, cool air trapped under warm air. Acid rain: precipitaion contaminated with acidic pollutants, sources: burning fossil fuels, efects: environmental damage, respi. Problems, metal out of soil, crops, monuments, structures. Indoor air polluion: wood stove, furnaces, asbestos, passive smoke, formaldehyde, household chemicals. When oxygen interacts with sunlight ozone is produced.
