Lecture 10 action/sci-fi films since 2000 (april 4, 2016) Saturday-sunday graphic scene to determine which shot, angle, music, dialogue is in the scene. Starting in 2000 with the blockbuster boom (starting with jaws and continues with star. Final decision about the music is left up to the director and producer: leads to complications/challenge for composers more than one person telling you what to do. More difficult to create music that every director and producer agrees on satisfying the needs of the director and supervisor. Director may have input on how the scores are developed: ex: the lord of the rings peter jackson had a say in how the music was created and what it should sound like. Suite : ex: hans zimmer was given 24 hours and a short text to give an idea of the emotional content of the movie. Writing process and music fitting to the film has changed dramatically. Effects in hans zimmer"s scores are important.
