Other medications may be administered preoperatively: antibiotics, eye-drops, routine prescription drugs. Age-related considerations: consider sensory defects, assess how alert they are. Nursing role involves understanding of anesthesia, pharmacology, and surgery, surgical interventions, which allow you to monitor the patient"s response.
