Document Summary

Assertion is an indicative sentence that is presented as being true (ex. that is a clock on the wall), any sort of statement of a fact, when its an assertion its presented by the speaker as true. Assertions are difficult to explain complicated terms and events. We present a series of reasons why that might be true. Argument is something one person makes, the presentation of reasons to back up some sort of assertion/position. Defeasible other premises we can add in that will show its wrong. Inductive arguments defeasible arguments, they can be diffused by adding more facts. Deductive arguments cannot be diffused by adding more facts. Example: either i am here or i am not, i am here, i am not not here *cancels it out. Argument made up of a series of premises, make sure to number them and a conclusion with a therefore sign.
