Euiamonia: good spirit, living well, lourishing, happiness. Moral (character) involve acion: character, prudence, self-discipline, moderaion, jusice. Intellectual: knowledge and formal understanding of the concepts needed to accomplish a task (associated with wisdom) Moral virtues, like crats, are acquired by habituaion: aristotle. Ethos = habit: the more we pracice something the easier it becomes. Good character: is achieved only through repiiion and over ime, cannot be won through intellectual pursuit alone, makes doing the right thing easy because it is second nature, who we are. Mind as a part of the body. Good character, experienced in pracice knows when to be moderate or not. Like virtue ethics opposes rule-based ethics: lawrence kohlberg (1982) Study suggested that more were more conscience of right and wrong than girls: carol gilligan, in a diferent voice(1982) Girls, usually, solved ethical problems in terms of saisfying paries involved, compromise and respect for feelings.
