Just as realism derives from the observations and interpretations of political situations, so does liberalism. Liberalism is one of the major schools of ir theory. Liberal internationalism: a theoretical approach to ir that advocates for human right, parliamentary, democracy, and free trade while also maintain that al such goals must begin within a state. Or: a perspective that seeks to transform international relations to emphasise peace, individual freedom, and prosperity and to replicate domestic models of liberal democracy at the international level. The combination of all four propositions allows us to see the fundamental contrast between realism vs. liberalism. Liberal values individualism, tolerance, freedom, and constitutionalism and. Realism conservatism, which places a higher value on order and authority and is willing to sacrifice the liberty of the individual for the stability of the community. Those who are linked, are safer, even if they are dictatorships, there is no perfect regime, some are more dictator than democrat and the opposite.
