Rebels are violent criminals, not political revolutionaries. Conflict is inherent to any society violence is the inability to control this conflict. How damaging civil wars can be for developing countries (partly because they last longer) Causes: could reduce economic growth to up to 3% a year, people killed and displaced damaging countries around as well. The causes could be considered like development in reverse quite difficult to escape.
