Document Summary

Visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. (humans can only detect stimulus between 400nm and 700nm on the electromagnetic spectrum) What are the two things that help us determine our sensory experience? (1) wavelengths which help us determine the hue. (2) amplitude/ intensity. Light travels in the form of a wave. Your brain creates colours and its all a part of a psychological experience. It"s the amount of energy in the light wave that makes the wave higher (in amplitude) that makes us see things as brighter. It"s located at the back of an eyeball and its very light sensitive. It also contains sensory receptors, (photo receptors) known as rods and cones. They connect to bipolar cells, which connect to ganglion cells. Rods are good for night time, they allow to only see black, white and grey, mostly periphery, not in the centre of the fovea.
