Withdrawal: the discomfort and distress that follow discontinuing an addictive drug or behaviour. The there major categories are: depressants, stimulants and hallucinogens. They all do their work in the brains synapses, stimulating, inhibiting or mimicking the activity of the brains own chemical messengers, the neurotransmitters.
