Well active & functional on reducing anxiety, relaxing muscles, & promoting sleep. **do not mix with other drugs like antidepressant drugs & alcohol. Buspan: antianxiety drug newer than benzos with fewer side effect. Less alertness + extremely slow down of the body faster effect shown than benzos. Do not rely on the drugs itself, therapy is essential. 1st generation: tricyclics & mao inhibitors: inhibits lots of neurotransmitters including epinephrine & norepinephrine. 2nd generation: was not effective as 1st generation and it had similar side effects. 3rd generation: changed effect prozac: it is not effective as 1st generation, but it has fewer side effects. It takes avg. few weeks to take an effect with required doses requires monitoring/changes from professions. Prozac enhances: serotonin by reuptake (ssris: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) worked by keeping active neuron with serotonin instead of taking the serotonin back to the previous neuron.
