Effective when combined with psychological therapy to treat gad, ptsd, ocd, and phobias. Can be addictive, ppl who stop taking them after heavy use may experience withdrawal symptoms; danger of psychological and physical dependence. The(cid:455) ofte(cid:374) do(cid:374)"t treat the (cid:272)ause of the disorder, the(cid:455) o(cid:374)l(cid:455) redu(cid:272)e s(cid:455)(cid:373)pto(cid:373)s. Antidepressant drugs: drugs used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, ocd, and ptsd by boosting mood by elevating levels of norepinephrine and serotonin; i. e prozac, zoloft, paxil. First generation block reabsorption or breakdown of both norepinephrine and serotonin. Side effects include dry mouth, weight gain, hypertension, dizziness, fatigue.
