Allows people to express emotion, thoughts and feelings. Connects people and is apart of their identity. Can be a barrier and can divide people. An explorer arrives on a new island and doesn"t speak the language. When standing around with the islanders, a bunny hops out of a bush and they all say. We could assume that gavagai means rabbit: but there could be an in nite number of other meanings. We must have tools to gure this out.
