A change in response to a command/order. Rules indicating how people are expected to behave in a specific situation. To regulate social interaction (i. e. make behaviour consistent and predictable) Once someone falls out of order of the norms, they others will try to regulate them back in but if all fails, this individual may be pushed out of the in group. The chameleon effect (chartrand & bargh ,1999) Participant and confederate worked on a task together. Iv confederate rubbed eye, shook foot, or did nothing.
