Researchers find out how variables are affected by differ conditions or how they differ from one group of individuals to another (ex pg 72) 2 aspects of research are important when planning a research study: Overall, selection of a measurement procedure involves decisions that can have consequences for the outcome of research study. Research study involves variables that are well-defined - means easily observed/measured. For ex height & weight for study of physical development - these are tangible.
