Document Summary

A variable is any measure or characteristics that we used in statistics. Allows us to mathematically control and extract. The scale we use influences the stats we use for analysing our data. We treat most psychological measures/tests as though they are on interval scales. The science of saying something meaningful about population when all we know about are samples. State are a tool for our research. A series of numbers used to summarize or describe a set of data and allow comparison between sets of data. Indicate how tightly or loosely the data values cluster around the central tendency. Used primarily for nominal or ordinal categorical data. The value for the mode is that category which contains the most data values. Multimodal = many modes rectangular/uniform: no mode (all scores have the same frequency) The data point that falls in the middle of a ranked data set.
