Natural sounds are made up of combined pure-tones, each with its own frequency and amplitude. Lowest frequency element of a set of tones is called a fundamental frequency. Overtones whose frequency is a whole integer multiple of the fundamental frequency are called harmonics. Attack buildup of sound at the beginning of a tone. Periodic sounds have repeating patterns/ aperiodic do not.
