Older gay and lesbian individuals may have increasing trouble coming out of the closet , primarily due to the lack of information available during their youth (in regards to sex) The older individuals are, the less likely they are to be in a relationship and/or have a sexual partner. For those in romantic relationships, relationship satisfaction tends to be higher than that of middle aged couples. A study conducted by tessler, lindeau et al. found that older adults have above average sexual health (all heterosexual respondents between the ages of 57 to 85) Men are still significantly more likely to masturbate into their older years.
