Document Summary
Vasocongestion an accumulation of blood in the blood vessels of a region of the body (especially the genitals), resulting in swelling or erection. Sexual response cycle: excitement, plateau, orgasm, resolution. The basic process that occurs during excitement is vasocongestion (produces erection) Erection results when the corpora cavernosa and the corpus spongiosum fill with blood. As the male gets closer to orgasm, a few drops of fluid secreted by the cowper"s gland appear at the tip of the penis. The corpus cavernosa releases blood rapidly then slows, physiologically men cannot become erect or have an orgasm right faster (gets longer with age) Emission the sensation that ejaculation is about to happen (contraction of the vas deferens, the deminal vesicle, and the prostate); the man will ejaculate even if he does not have an orgasm. Expulsion caused by contraction of muscles at the base of the penis and urethra.
