Rights generally fall under three categories:
-Right to protection
•Protection from harm: exploitation, discrimination, neglect, abuse, war
-Right to provision
•Right to food, shelter, healthcare, education, play and recreation, family
-Right to participation
•Children should have a voice in matters that affect them
•They should be represented
•Often forgotten - don’t always remember to ask children
Article 19
-State Parties shall take all appropriate legislative, administrative, social and educational measures to protect the
child from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury or abuse, neglect or negligent maltreatment, maltreatment
or exploitation, including sexual abuse, while in the care of parent(s), legal guardian(s) or any other person who
has the care of the child

Parent"s job and nances - might cause parents to be stressed and impact the parent"s ability to parent effectively, respond consistently and in a timely manner. Physical abuse: acts of aggression that often occur during the course of discipline or severe physical punishment.
