Dissociation means distruption of the usual function of consciousness, memory, identity or perception. Dms-5 diagnoses: dissociative amnesia, dissociative identity disorder, depersonalization disorder. A. inability to recall important autobiographical information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature, that is inconsistent with ordinary forgetfulness specifierl with dissociative figure. Memory for non-personal information is usually intact. Memory usually returns within a few days, but can be chronic. Many differential diagnoses including: did, ptsd, neurocognitive disorders, adhd etc. Amnesia plus apparently purposeful travel or bewildered wandering.
