It"s defined as: any non-consensual sexual act by either a male or female person to either a male or female person, regardless of the relationship between the people involved. It"s bodily harm that isn"t permanent: aggravated sexual assault (most severe, sexual assault resulting in permeant injuries to the victim, such as disfiguration, mutilation or the victim"s life was in danger. They found out that the acute phase lasts a couple of days to a couple of weeks, depending on the individual and the symptoms are often quite severe: high level of fear and anxiety, and depression. In addition, the victims often engaged in self-blame and they didn"t trust people afterwards and had self-doubt.
